 I have registered using the Free Limited Use membership but now want to upgrade to Full membership, how do I do it?
Simple, just log in with your Free membership username and password, then click on the “Upgrade” button. There is the option to upgrade using your card via paypal or 2checkout or to pay by post.

 I'm having login problems
Your username and password are case sensitive so need to be typed in with capitals where appropriate. If you log in and get referred back to the login page again, make sure your browser privacy settings are not too high. This site does use cookies which keep you logged as you navigate around the site. Setting your privacy level too high will block them. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer set to “Medium High” or lower (Go to Tools>Internet Options>Privacy)

 I can’t find my own profile when searching!
It’s not actually so easy to find your own profile when searching. When you search a two way match is done. The results shown are not only those members who meet your requirements but your profile also meets theirs. So if your profile is set to “male searching for female”, and you search male looking for female, your own profile won’t show up as you are not female. The same applies to other search options also.

 Why can't I find many other users when I search?
Whilst our membership is growing, there will be areas of the country with fewer members. To help with your search, make sure you complete your profile and set your preferences as wide as possible. Completing your profile will also help others find you.

Adding a photo to your profile statistically increases the number of messages you will receive by 5 times. It’s a lot I know, but that’s what it is!

Also, follow the tips on the search page for best results and stick to the Basic Search option.

 I have made a subscription payment but my account has not been upgraded.
Firstly, on occasion it does take a few minuets to send through a payment notification for the auto upgrading of your account. This is the most likely cause of any such problem.

If more than 30 minuets has past and your account has not been upgraded then please check your email for a confirmation that payment has been made. It is possible that an element of the payment process had not been completed causing the payment to fail. The presence or lack thereof of your payment confirmation email will settle this.

If your account has not been upgraded and you have confirmed that a payment has been made please forward a copy of the confirmation email to admin@freerub.com and we will investigate and manually upgrade your account. There is rarely cause for this problem to occur.

 How do I cancel my auto renewing membership?
If you choose a recurring subscription (paypal only) when you first upgraded then payments will be automatically sent to us as per your instructions to paypal. We do not take any money from your account, paypal doesn’t work like that!

If you would like to cancel these automatic payments just log in to your paypal account, find your first subscription payment and check the details. You will see here an option to cancel any further payments. It really is simpler than it may sound. Your freerub account will then run to expiry of your current paid period and then reset to a free account.

 How do I upload a photo?
Firstly, if you’re not sure how to upload a photo it’s actually much easier than you are probably thinking.

Your photo must be a .jpg or .jpeg file type that is less than 200KB. You can check the file’s “Properties” (right click on file name) to find this out.

To upload it just login and follow this sequence, click on:- My Profile>Profile details>Browse (Picture1)>then browse your own computer to find the photo file and click “Open”.

This selects the picture to be uploaded. Then just use the upload button at the bottom of the page to complete the process, It may take a little time depending on the size of the file and your connection speed. You can repeat this process with the other 3 picture places if you wish. Uploading a photo is a good idea as it “dramatically” increases the rate of response to your messages.

 What can I do about members who keep annoying me?
Use the block function found around the site but particularly in the annoying members profile. They won't be able to contact you after unless you have given them contact details for outside of the site’s infrastructure.

If they are persistent, please advise us via the “Report Abuse” button so we can investigate and take further action where appropriate. If you feel that someone is misusing the site please also use the “Report abuse” button on their profile page.

 How do I delete my profile?
Log in, go to “Member Services” and following the “Cancel Subscription” link.

 How do I leave feedback?
The option to leave feedback for a partner that you have exchanged with is found via the “Partners” page.

To protect members from malicious feedback we require members to first use the “Partners” tool to establish a formal partnership. You invite a member and they accept! Once this has been done the option to leave feedback will be made accessible.

 Why have some of my messages/feedback/partners disappeared?
If a member decides to break the Terms and Conditions of the site (posting inappropriate pictures, harassment) then we delete their membership, when this happens everything that they are associated to (except messages) also gets deleted. This also happens if they cancel their own account.
